/01Project Overview

What We Built

UrbanRetail operated separate online and physical stores, each tracking its own inventory, which meant products could show as available online while being out of stock in a physical outlet, or vice versa. They wanted their online store and outlets to share a single, real-time inventory so customers would never be told a product was available when it was not.

Techomaxx built a headless ecommerce storefront that could be customised independently on the front end while pulling from the same backend as a new point-of-sale system deployed across UrbanRetail's stores. Both the storefront and the POS synced continuously to a central inventory and pricing engine, so a sale in a physical store immediately reflected in online stock counts, and vice versa.

Because stock levels were now shared rather than duplicated across systems, the overselling problem that had previously frustrated both staff and customers was eliminated. Management also gained a single, accurate view of stock across every channel, letting them make faster decisions on restocking, promotions and store transfers instead of reconciling numbers from separate systems.

This project reflects the kind of omnichannel retail work Techomaxx regularly delivers: unifying ecommerce and in-store POS around one inventory and pricing engine so retailers can trust their stock numbers regardless of which channel a sale comes through.
